Germany Jegel Bavarian Pattern

36-card Bavarian type published by Ernst Jegel, Nuremberg, late 19th century. The deuce of hearts shows a lady adorning a monument, and has the tax stamp. The king of hearts holds a shield with Ernst Jegel’s trade mark. The 8 of leaves has a tablet with the lettering "Ernst Jegel in Nürnberg". The other numeral cards all have vignettes beneath the suit marks depicting wild animals or country pastimes.
