Caricatures by Garth Stackhouse of American politicians involved in the 1996 presidential campaign.
These caricatures in black and white of 16 leading figures from the 1996 American presidential campaign are relatively mild, with emphasis on the heads of the characters. The illustrations are by Garth Stackhouse of Chicago. Each Joker depicts an animal with boxing gloves – an elephant for the Republican Party and a donkey for the Democrats, these being their respective symbols. The same animals are featured in the back design under the heading “POLITICAL PLAYERS”. See the box►

Roddy started collecting stamps on his 8th birthday. In 1977 he joined the newly formed playing-card department at Stanley Gibbons in London before setting up his own business in Edinburgh four years later. His collecting interests include playing cards, postcards, stamps (especially playing cards on stamps) and sugar wrappers. He is a Past President of the Scottish Philatelic Society, a former Chairman of the IPCS, a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards and Curator of the WCMPC’s collection of playing cards. He lives near Toulouse in France.
