How many malt whisky distilleries are there in Scotland? The answer is more than 150, or more or less the right number to fill three packs of cards. Landscape photographer Duncan McEwan travelled all over Scotland to capture these views of distilleries and associated buildings, old and new. All but two of the images are in horizontal format. The back design is composed of ears of barley (the principal raw material in the production of malt whisky), with a different border colour for each pack. The extra card carries identical explanatory text in all three packs. See the boxes

In 1977 he joined the newly formed playing-card department at Stanley Gibbons in London before setting up his own business in Edinburgh four years later. His collecting interests include playing cards, postcards, stamps (especially playing cards on stamps) and sugar wrappers. He is a Past President of the Scottish Philatelic Society, a former Chairman of the IPCS, a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards and Curator of the WCMPC’s collection of playing cards. He lives near Toulouse in France.
