Henley-on-Thames playing cards
Calendar events and visitor attractions to be found in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.
Henley is associated in most people’s minds with the annual Royal Regatta (AD, 6D, 6S). However, rowing is not the only activity or attraction for which Henley is famous. There are many local landmarks, businesses and festivals which draw visitors. All these are celebrated in this very attractive pack where much thought has been given to the clean, colourful, modern designs. Apart from the KD, all the court cards include the head of a King, Queen or Jack somewhere in the design. On the numeral cards, the appropriate number of pips (including the two corner pips) have been incorporated into the design, thus turning this into a semi-transformation pack. Dusty Springfield, who spent her last years in Henley-on-Thames, is featured on one of the wild cards. The back shows a view from the river. As souvenir or promotional packs go, this one is strikingly smart and appealing. See the box►
Packs can be bought here - www.acehenley.co.uk - where all the cards in the pack are shown. Other packs in the series are in preparation. See: Marlow playing cards►
