Politisk Tarot
Swedish politicians caricatured by Dan Glimne in a set of Tarot trumps.
Dan Glimne, who came up with the idea for and designed this pack, is a well-known Swedish games expert and designer of games who has himself been a candidate for Sweden’s Moderate Party. To quote from a letter received from Dan in April 1997, “I came up with the idea as a gimmick before the annual national convention of the Moderate Party here, and of course the illustrations contain various elegant ironical allusions concerning the ruling party here”. That ruling party was the Swedish Social Democratic Party which had won the general election in 1994. The date 1998 on the sleeve refers to the next general election. Gideon Salutskij executed the black-and-white illustrations. The print run was just 959 copies. See the box►
