Deportivo Alavés 1921-2021
Drawings by Guillem Bosch of famous Alavés footballers in celebration of the club’s centenary.
Deportivo Alavés (often simply called Alavés) is a Spanish football club based in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Although the club was founded in 1920, it celebrated its centenary on the 100th anniversary of the adoption of its current name (1921-2021). To mark the occasion, artist Guillem Bosch created this Spanish-suited pack with 40 black and white drawings of famous footballers who have played for the club. Each one is named top right alongside the dates that person was an active player. The team’s home kit is a blue and white-striped shirt and blue shorts. Fernando Pacheco (12 of Batons), who wears a crimson shirt, was a goalkeeper for the club. The tuck box is embossed in silver►

The club’s greatest achievement in modern times was reaching the 2001 UEFA Cup Final. In that match, Deportivo Alavés played Liverpool but lost 5‒4 by golden goal.
