Topolino Fiat Cinquecento
Fully illustrated Italian Disney pack advertising the Fiat Cinquecento, made by Modiano, Trieste, Italy, 1993.
Fully illustrated Italian Disney pack also serving to advertise the Fiat Cinquecento, made by Modiano, Trieste, Italy, for the weekly comic magazine, Topolino, 1993.
The Italians love their Disney characters. What may be less well known is that almost all of the Disney characters have their own distinctive names in Italian, thus Mickey Mouse is Topolino, Goofy is Pippo, Donald Duck is Paperino, etc. In this pack, the main characters are depicted full-length on the court cards, while the heads only of a whole host of other characters are featured on all the pip cards. Each one is named in Italian. The comic magazine, Topolino, founded in 1932, started a tradition many years ago of offering a pack of cards with one of its issues each year. This one dates from 1993. Curiously, there is an advertisement on the back for the Fiat Cinquecento!
