Cartoons promoting the Unimog UX 100, a small truck produced by Mercedes-Benz.

1996 Germany Berliner Spielkarten Advertising Cartoon Skat

Unimog is a range of multipurpose tractors, trucks and lorries manufactured in Germany since 1948 (from 1951 under the Mercedes-Benz brand). This promotional pack vaunts the capabilities of the Unimog UX 100 by way of a series of cartoons, giving the vehicle a friendly human face throughout. Not only the double-ended court cards are illustrated; the aces and numeral cards also have small cartoons, resulting in a rearrangement of some of the pips. The ‘real’ truck is shown on the reverse, in orange against a dark blue background.
