Advertising pack for the Finnish firm Nokia showing different mobile phones.

1990 GermanyTelecommunicationsBerliner Spielkarten

This is the second of two publicity packs made by Berliner Spielkarten for Nokia. The court cards have colour photographs of four different mobile phones and of men carrying or using them. Each model of phone is named at the foot. On the Aces and pip cards, the central pips have been replaced by mobile phones, a different model for each suit, all printed in black and white. On the Joker there is a female model on a sun lounger with no sign of a mobile phone! Of note, all the indices are printed one way up only, i.e., they have not been turned in the bottom right-hand corner of each card. Plain blue backs with the wording “NOKIA MOBILE PHONES” in white.
