Tarot Actuel 1984
Major arcana to cut out, issued with the French magazine Actuel, using photographic images.
Playing cards and Tarot cards issued free with magazines are a much neglected and poorly documented area of collecting. This particular set of major arcana was issued with the French magazine Actuel in January 1984. The 22 ‘cards’ are printed on one fold-out sheet, stapled to the centre of the magazine. The images are all photographic and, somewhat bizarrely, feature fashion accessories and clothes by the likes of Chanel, Ted Lapidus and Thierry Mugler! Instructions for use and suggested meanings are printed in the magazine itself. On the reverse of the ‘cards’ is an advert for St Marc soap powder/detergent!

The magazine Actuel went through several incarnations, surviving in various forms from 1967 until 1994.
