A standard French Tarot game pack with passing references to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

2024 Europe France La Ducale Olympics Tarot Tarock

Despite the finely coloured courts and trumps, this is essentially a standard ‘Jeu de Tarot’. There are passing references to the Paris 2024 Olympics on the Ace of Spades and on the one-colour backs. Where the manufacturer’s initials or logo often appear on the trump cards are some lines probably meant to resemble part of an athletics track together with “PARIS 2024” in minuscule lettering. At least the numbering on the trumps looks modern. The cards are wrapped in paper instead of plastic to be environmentally friendly but unfortunately the finishing on the corners is poor and the cards feel flimsy. See the box

Surely an opportunity was missed here to do something really special, say with non-standard courts and trumps depicting different sports or sportsmen/sportswomen? Perhaps, however, the cost of using the official logo for this licensed product prohibited further innovation and expenditure, as with the 54-card pack reviewed elsewhere.
