1972 Egypt Spain Heraclio Fournier Souvenir

Between 1952 and 1963, Heraclio Fournier produced souvenir packs for Spain, Egypt, Lebanon, Kenya, Italy, Denmark and Paris, with photographs in sepia or black and white. From about 1967 onwards, such packs for the tourist market were printed in full colour. This one – for Egypt – was produced in 1972. Each card has a different photographic view, with a title in English beneath. The manufacturer’s name appears on the 4 of Clubs. On the reverse is an image of Tutankhamun on his throne. The cards have gilt corners. The accompanying leaflet gives an indication as to where the different sites are located – in or near Cairo and further up the Nile Valley.
