Acelion Cyberpunk Playing Cards
This cyberpunk deck by Acelion combines magic and science fiction elements, inspired by Nordic mythology and cyberpunk themes.
Acelion's Cyberpunk: Origins Playing Cards blend fantasy and science fiction elements influenced by Norse mythology with cyberpunk concepts.
This cyberpunk deck is inspired by a "mythical war from Nordic mythology that resulted in the destruction of the world and the birth of a new one," according to the Acelion team. The tuck case is designed in the traditional Acelion double tuck box style, with the outer box open at the top allowing easy access to the inside tuck box. The tuck case is made of laser foil and has dazzlingly coloured lettering and circles. (see the box )
The deck is ideal for cardistry, with a back design ideal for flourishing and fans. "The back of the cards is designed for cardistry and collecting, with a significant visual impact when fanning or flourishing," according to the Acelion team.
The colours of hearts and diamonds have been changed to light green, while spades and clubs have been changed to rose red. The artwork on the aces and court cards is based on characters from a cyberpunk-Norse future, such as Hela, the goddess of death, and Thor, the god of thunder.
The joker cards have two alternative designs, both of which are based on characters from the Cyberpunk: Origin universe. Niederhogg, the malevolent black dragon from Norse mythology, is represented by the joker with a light green background, whereas Odin, the former "king of the gods," is represented by the joker with a rose red background. Both jokers have designs that represent the futuristic technology that is typical of the cyberpunk genre.
The deck has 52 cards, two jokers and a gaff card.
