2002 Australia Hema Maps Souvenir

Scenic views from all over Australia can be found in this pack. Some are in vertical and some are in horizontal format. Each one is named. The quality of the colour reproduction is better than in most souvenir packs. The publisher’s name appears on both of the Jokers (a koala and a kookaburra). Cleverly, a peelable label has been used on the plastic box so that a different box did not need to be produced for each pack in the series (see below).

In 1977 he joined the newly formed playing-card department at Stanley Gibbons in London before setting up his own business in Edinburgh four years later. His collecting interests include playing cards, postcards, stamps (especially playing cards on stamps) and sugar wrappers. He is a Past President of the Scottish Philatelic Society, a former Chairman of the IPCS, a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards and Curator of the WCMPC’s collection of playing cards. He lives near Toulouse in France.
